The United States Department of Agriculture has set up a Voice Response Service (VRS) with the state regulations for every state in the country, as well as the regulations for Guam, Puerto Rico, The Virgin Islands, Canada and Mexico. You can call 1-800-545-USDA (1-800-545-8732) 24 hours a day to reach this service. Once you are connected, you will be presented with a list of menus.

To retrieve the information on importing into Idaho, you would want to select option 2 and then press the Idaho state code (43) and then select the animal species you are inquiring about.
The VRS also provides callers with after-hours phone numbers to call for permits when the office is closed. |
