1 – 30Taste of the West Menu Promotion, Mexico
The Idaho Department of Agriculture together with WUSATA will sponsor a menu promotion in Mexico. An Idaho chef will travel to Mexico for the purpose of training chefs in the preparation of Western U.S. products for the restaurants’ menus. Nov 1 – Dec 31 Yellow Onion Promotion , Mexico
The seventh annual Yellow Onion Promotion begins Nov 1 st on a nationwide roll out in major cities in Mexico. This promotion highlights the vast qualities of the U.S. yellow onion. The Idaho and Oregon Department of Agriculture, Idaho Eastern Oregon Onion Committee, in cooperation with the WUSATA sponsor this event. For more information, or to participate, contact Jerry Ward.
11-12 Macau Chef Training, Competition and Awards Reception/Product Showcase, Macau , China
The Idaho Department of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA), will hold a c hef training, young chef competition and product showcase/awards reception in Macau. Participating chefs will be from high-end hotels and restaurants in Macau. The reception will be attending by the chefs as well as food and beverage managers, importers and distributors. The training, competition and reception menu will feature food ingredients from the Western US. This project provides Idaho companies the opportunity to promote product to key decision makers in Macau’s fast growing foodservice sector. For info, contact Amanda Albers.

17-18 China Foodservice Inbound Mission, Boise , ID
A delegation chefs, food and beverage managers and foodservice
Importers / distributors from China will be visiting Idaho and California. Idaho companies will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with qualified chefs, F&B managers and foodservice buyers. Great networking opportunities for chefs and local producers will be the highlight of the Farmer-Chef Collaborative events held in cities throughout Idaho. TBD Export Readiness Training, Boise , ID
T he Western US Agriculture Trade Association (WUSATA) and ISDA will be offering Export Readiness Training to Idaho companies interested in expanding to foreign markets. Participating companies will receive a two hour individual session with export consultant Ron Sloy focusing on the needs of their business and get advice tailored to fit their business goals. In addition, companies will also have the opportunity to investigate strategic export choices, discuss international marketing opportunities, and explore marketing funding options. 8-9 Larry A. Brannen Idaho Ag Summit – Boise, ID
This annual event includes educational workshops, a legislative strolling supper, and a Governor’s Awards Luncheon for Excellence in Agriculture. Each year, the Ag Summit brings together Idaho’s leaders in Agriculture to discuss relevant issues and to discuss future challenges.

10-12 ANTAD 2010 – Guadalajara , MX
ANTAD is the largest retail and supermarket trade show in Mexico with over 15,000 trade visitors. In 2009, a total of 42 U.S. companies participated, reporting $18.5 million in12-month projected sales. The Mexican market is growing rapidly and demanding high quality products making ANTAD one of the best ways to introduce your products into the market. 17-30 Food and Hotel Asia, Singapore, and 2 Outbound Trade Missions, Outbound Locations TBD
The Idaho and Hawaii Departments of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA), will be coordinating participation at Food and Hotel Asia, April 20-23, 2010, as well as two trade missions in conjunction with FHA. Each mission will include one-on-one meetings with importers and buyers, opportunity to show product samples, market briefing, and an overview of retail and/or food service sectors in the market. 5 World Trade Day Conference, Boise , ID
The Idaho Export Council is sponsoring an annual seminar in conjunction with World Trade Day. The conference will be held at Boise State University and will include a range of export topics.
JUNE
11-19 Idaho Governor’s Trade Mission to China
Governor Otter will lead an Idaho trade delegation to China with stops in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. China is Idaho’s 3 rd largest export market and is an important market for Idaho’s export companies. China’s GDP is expected to grow 7-8% in 2009 and trade and investment potential in China has remained strong despite the global financial crisis. TBD WUSATA Branded Program Seminar, Boise, ID
The Western US Agriculture Trade Association (WUSATA) and ISDA will be holding a seminar on the WUSATA Branded Program. The WUSATA Branded Program is a matching funds program that supports the promotion of branded food and agricultural products in foreign markets. Companies currently participating in the Branded Program and any companies interested in learning more about the program are invited to attend. TBD “Great American Culinary Camp – Seoul 2009”, Seoul, Korea
The Western US Agriculture Trade Association (WUSATA) and ISDA in conjunction with the Agricultural Trade Office in Seoul Korea will host a menu seminar for chefs and purchasing managers that will be jointly organized with leading local importers of US foodservice products. The seminar will educate decision makers in the local restaurant industry about the variety, quality and uses of Western US products. This seminar provides Idaho companies an opportunity to showcase new to market or existing products to qualified buyers in the Korean market. The receptions and product showcases will be attending by chefs, food and beverage managers, importers and distributors. The chef program will feature food ingredients from the Western US.
